Particular Baptist Radio Reads Hanserd Knollys (1599-1691)

The new calendar year being now upon us, I the host of Particular Baptist Radio have decided to begin reading the rare writings of early Baptist Hanserd Knollys. For more information about him, see here. We will spend the next several weeks to months reading Hanserd Knollys' writings until exhausting the PBR archive.

The Canon of Scripture

Much ado is made about the biblical canon of Genesis to Malachi and Matthew's gospel to the Apocalypse of S. John. The ignorant and scorners parrot the idea the canon of scripture came by way of Roman Catholicism; these most reverend scholars, frequently those who should know better repeat the following lines:

The Canon of the Bible comes in  AD 325 by way of the First Nicene Council, thereby making it a Roman Catholic invention.

The Canon of the Bible comes in AD 397 at the First Council of Carthage. Therefore, the Roman Catholic Church gave the Bible.

The question the astute Christian must ask is, "Does or does not the biblical Canon predate the fourth century, because if it does, it means it would by default be original?" For more information, see our video on it.

Episode 001: Xmas Is a Pagan Holiday

Xmas Is a Pagan Holiday

The Commentators On Christ-mass

  1. John Trapp on Christ-mass
  2. John Calvin on Christ-mass
  3. John Gill on Christ-mass
  4. Adam Clarke on Christ-mass
  5. Matthew Poole in Christ-mass
  6. John Wesley on Christ-mass
  7. Daniel Whedon on Christ-mass
  8. Thomas Constable on Christ-mass

While all men have varying views, and Particular Baptist Radio does not share all their beliefs. We include these commentators for their treasury of scriptural knowledge, as well as their historical value. Until approximately the same time in the early 1800s as the Old Particular and Strict Baptist Split with the New School Missionary Baptists, Xmas was banned toto caelo in what would become the United Kingdom and the United States. Now, these once-Christian populations have divorced their God and Christian heritage. If these godly Puritans, Congregationalists (Independents), Presbyterians and Baptists rejected Xmas as a pagan holiday resurrected by Rome the Mother of Harlots and Abominations in the earth, why have not you?

Does Rome Maintain the Five Solae?

As preludes to our show, I thought to tackle the lingering question if the church of Rome believes from her own Catechism of the Catholic Church in the five solae codified during Reformation times. Here are the respective episodes. It is our sincere hope this will awaken the New Evangelicals and New Calvinists to the truth about Rome, in addition to evangelizing the Catholic with forcible words (Job 6.25).
